The dim room, the sweet scent, the heavy breathing, the cold and masculine aura—all these mixed together shocked Nora's gradually awakening senses.
She felt like a lone boat, repeatedly lifted and thrown toward the endless sky by Logan on top of her, then ruthlessly dragged back down and crushed into dust until her entire body shivered, and she could not repress her cries.
Suddenly, with a bang, the closed door was kicked open, blinding light streamed in from the doorway, casting a cold, stern figure.
Nora’s voice was instantly stuck in her throat. She squinted against the bright light, finally able to discern the figure standing at the door.
Aiden, why was he standing at the door? Then who was the person on her?
Nora’s mind blanked. She turned her head to get a clearer look, but a blanket was thrown over her head, completely enveloping her. Footsteps echoed around the room.
A sharp voice sliced through the quiet room, "Ah, sister, why are you in bed with Logan?”
What! Nora violently pulled the blanket off her head and looked towards the side of the bed. Her gaze fell upon the two figures standing there.
Logan, with only pants on, showcasing his muscular upper body, Aiden in a crisp white suit — the two men were in a tense standoff. What the hell was going on?
Nora shook her head. The last memory in her heavy mind was that of her walking into Loe's room carrying two cups of coffee. Today was the centennial celebration banquet of Grayson Corporation and also the day of her engagement to Leo. He had been so busy and tired, so she made him some coffee to accompany him.
The moment Nora entered his room, she could hear the sound of running water from the bathroom. She thought that Leo was taking a shower. She drank a cup while waiting for him, and then she started feeling unusually hot, her consciousness blurred, and she opened the bathroom door.
Nora's face instantly turned pale. She had personally brewed the coffee. She had left it unattended for less than a minute when she stepped away to answer a phone call. Was something added to her coffee? Who could it have been?
She tried to sit up, but dizziness overcame her, and Nora collapsed back onto the bed.
"Sister, what's the matter? You need to explain this to Aiden quickly. They're about to start fighting."
Sophie, dressed in a strapless white evening gown, looked worried, her beautifully delineated face communicating her concern. She forcefully pulled out the blanket covering Nora, revealing Nora's scandalously bare shoulder peppered with marks and the as yet un-dried blood stain on the bed sheet, signaling her loss of innocence.
A bony and large hand suddenly grasped Sophie's wrist and flung her away. A large figure, god-like in stature, protected Nora behind him instantly.
"Get out."
The sound of his commanding voice, with the undertone of dominating authority, coupled with the ice-cold, handsome face, froze the room's atmosphere solid. Without giving Sophie a single glance, he casually wiped his hand, which had just grabbed Sophie, with a tissue. Afterward, he discarded the tissue on the ground, which upset Sophie, and her small face flushed with embarrassment instantly.
Nora frantically dresses, grasping onto the blanket with force to cover her body. Her knuckles turned pale out of fear. She had always been terrified of this man, Leo; how did all of this happen? Her first time was meant for her fiancé, Leo.
"Aiden, I’m scared." Sophie threw herself into the arms of Aiden, shivering, yet the corners of her lips curled up into a little smirk.
Leo, eyes bloodshot, glanced at Logan, who stood between him and Nora, and asked painfully through clenched teeth.
"Brother, don't you think you owe me an explanation? What are you doing in my room with my fiancée… Nora, is this your idea of an engagement gift for me?" With the last sentence, Leo's voice cracked from his violent shouting.
