The alarm clock rang and I shut it off. Arrgh why is it morning already? It feels like I fell asleep five minutes ago. I stretched my arms trying to shake off the sleepy feeling. I could just sleep for 10 more minutes. I threw myself back on the bed and closed my eyes but before I could drift off to sleep, Mrs. Anderson banged the door angrily. Her daughters call her mom, her neighbors called her mrs. Anderson but my personal favorite nickname is succubus. It's because she sucks the life out of me. I curse the day she took me in. Ever since I came here all I do is work and she gets paid by the system.
"Ivy get your lazy ass up and start working. I want breakfast before you go to work."
" yes ma'am"
I forced myself out of the blankets. One more tick on my calendar. 3 Days To Go. 3 days and I'll be out of the small town. It's been tough living here. I have the mean mother and two evil sisters but I'm no Cinderella and my life is not a fairytale. This is not a movie with dashing princes.
I started by spreading my bed then I went to wash my face and brush my teeth. I slipped into my home clothes. My bedroom isn't ideal. I live in the basement. When I first got here mrs. Anderson's daughters refused to share their rooms with me. After two days of me sleeping on the couch I stumbled onto the basement. When I asked mrs. Anderson if I could stay there, she shrugged and said that she we'll move one of the beds so I could sleep on it. Strange to admit but I'm going to miss this little cave a lot.
In the kitchen, the sink had a lot of dirty dishes. Obvious that's when I'm not around, this place is a mess. I silently cursed these little witches and started doing the dishes.
" you missed a spot" Charmaine said mockingly.
" she missed several spots actually" Constance added on before they laughed like maniacs.
I rolled my eyes and continued to wash. These are the other two succubus who take after their mother. They were also popular girls in school alongside their cheerleading captain, Kylie. They made it their personal mission to make life a living hell for me. The worst part is that after a whole day of dealing with these brats at school, I had to come home and serve them dinner.
Three more days, I reminded myself. After seeing that their insults weren't affecting me, they left me alone. Finally a peaceful kitchen. I quickly finished everything and rush to the diner for my shift. Now that I graduated high school I have to earn more money.
It was a lot more busy at the diner on holidays because most kids likes to eat there. This afternoon the cool kids we're sitting in the corner my first and only crush Vance was here too.
