“Akila!”

When I heard my father's voice, my emerald eyes started to open, and I looked around to see where I was. I am now in a place where I am behind the wolf.

I can't help but wonder if it's Faolan when I look around. He begins to look like a werewolf right now, but my dad is just running around with his feet on the ground and his gun resting on the left side of his stomach.

“Father!” I started to worry about him, but it turned out he was just running after us and looking around.

We are now making our way away from the huge number of people who want to kill everyone in our colony. I cried out of pure pain. Looks like a lot of wolves are sleeping on the ground. Even young wolves don't have much of their own life because they have to give up so much for the pack. I can still picture where it was and what happened before the lights went out.

“D-Dixon?” I said something incoherent and then turned around to look at my back. We are too far away from her at the moment.

Even though she is getting close to the end of her life, she still wants to help the same group of people she has helped her whole life. I'm crossing my fingers because I want to see the full moon tonight.

I said something to the sky, like "Please help us just this once." Then I looked around, but I didn't see a big, lit-up ball.

If the moon looks full when it comes up on this day, they might be able to stay alive. If there isn't enough time, it won't be done. The things that are going on right now are making me very angry. Even though I still don't understand, we keep running away from where the tribes are.

“Father? Are you fine?" After Faolan had pinned me to the ground and we had moved to a safe place away from the other people fighting, I said that.

He told Faolan, "Come with Akila as you leave the woods. I'll go back to our tribe and help anyone I can." But as my dad talked, I held his wrist.

"But, father, you are not better! You've been killed! I don't want you to keep staying at that place!" I told him, but I already knew what he was going to do. He loves the rest of the tribe with all his heart and never breaks their trust. This is the best thing my father has ever done, and I will always look up to him because of it.

"Akila, I can't." Even though he told me he knew his job was to keep our community safe, I wouldn't let him leave the area.

"Akila?" he glared at me, but I was able to hold back my tears and just look into his eyes. I turned my hands so they faced him and stopped him from leaving. He got on his knees and held my face in his hands while wiping my tears away.

"Oh, my child, please!" He told me everything will be fine, but I didn't like the plan and shook my head at him.

He said, "We must save our colony."

This time, I want to do things that are all about me. I want to hang out with my dad. I just don't want to be the one who loses him. As soon as I heard your name, Akila, I looked at Faolan. He looks like he wants me to do what the King says by the way he nods at me. I cried my eyes out and just stared at his sad face because I couldn't stop. I have to get ready for it, even if I don't want to.

I need my dad to promise to come back and tell him, "Please come back." I know that it will be hard for us to win this war because so many other tribes are fighting with us right now.

All I want is to be with him for a very long time. He said he would come back to me and gave me a quick kiss on the top of my head.

My father is a king, and as a king, he has to do his duties as well as he can. He must stay on the throne. I'm just looking at him as he runs toward where the fight is, and then my green eyes give him the signal. He is about to leave the road that Faolan and I will take, so I am just looking at him. A sign of something that I would prefer not to happen.

“Father!” I yelled and went to the place where I thought he was most likely to be. While he kept taking looks at me. A bow and arrow were put into his chest, where his heart might be.

“Father!” I yelled again because I was getting scared and looked around to see who might be doing it.

I have a hard time finding him because he is hidden in the dark and among the trees. He tried to get away from the area by running as fast as he could. I tried to keep up with him, but I couldn't. I looked over at my father, who was so shocked by what had just happened to him that he was almost on his knees.

"King Lycaon!" When Faolan's voice was heard, he grabbed my father, who had fallen to the ground, right away.

I don't know what just happened, but now my hands and legs are shaking and my heart feels like it's going to stop beating. I got on my knees on the ground because I didn't know how I felt.

“Fa-father?!” I said something to him, and he looked at me for a moment before putting out his hands.

“No! This can't happen!" I screamed out in fear as I looked up into the sky. While Faolan held his head up with his hands, my father said these words.

"Akila."

"My dearest child, I will always love you. I will," He said, and those feelings, along with a painful one I hadn't been aware of before, came back to me all at once.

“No! Don't say that! You'll be fine!" I told him that, and he grinned back at me. When I look up at the sky, I can see that the full moon is rising.

"You'll be fine! It's a night when the moon is full!" I said that with a lot of hope and optimism in my heart, but he shook his head and looked at Faolan.

"I beg you, please take good care of her. Faolan, you understand what I've said." He talked about it as if they had already talked about it.

"Dad, what are you talking about?!" I yelled at him very loudly, but all he did was laugh and put his hands on my face.

"Akila, you're right. Even though it's a full moon,” He also said that he is having trouble taking a breath right now.

“F-father!!!” At the same time I yelled at him, he was fighting for his life.

"But if a wolf gets stabbed in the chest where his heart is, even on a full moon night, I can't heal myself," he said, wanting me to scream because I'm in so much pain right now.

He also said, "I can't heal myself."

“No!” As my father closed his eyes for the last time, I said something to him as he gently patted my hand.

"King Lycaon!" Faolan said this while looking at the king with worry in his eyes.

"And that's the way it is for a werewolf." His very last words.

Loss causes pain, sadness, numbness, and trembling. Those are the kinds of feelings I wouldn't stop letting myself have whenever...

When the only wolf I had died, it was because he sacrificed himself, just like my mother does.

"Father, wake up!!!"
