Alice POV:

It's a rainy day. The Moon Pride Pack is out, and the event that moved the pack out of their routine is the death of their Luna.

My mom had been sick for a while, but passed away in the end because of her human body without healing ability.

Standing aside at my mom's coffin, I looked at her face. She was gorgeous. Pale and fair skin, brown hair and green eyes that always reminded me her smile.

Tears fall down my face. I wiped it away and turned to run away.

"Watch out!" The boy yelled at me, as I was falling, and pulled me just in time when a car was coming my way.

To be honest, I was too sad to care.

He then grabbed me by my shoulders and turned me to look directly at him. His eyes were light blue, and her hair, straight and long down to the middle of his ear. His skin was white, and he was smiling.

"You're kind of clumsy, need to be more careful… oh…" I guess he finally noticed my swollen, red eyes by then. "I'm sorry, I… Is… was it your mom?"

"Yes…"

"My condolences… I'm Matthew, Matt for short, Alpha Raymond Pierce is my dad."

"I'm Liz. It is nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too."

As the kid of an alpha, we are taught manners and proper ways almost as soon as we can talk…

"Which pack do you come from?" I asked, sniffing and trying to be courteous.

"We're from Dark Moon pack, my father is a friend and business partner of yours. We came to pay respects, though I didn't remember that they had a kid… My mom brought me here to visit years ago and I don't remember seeing kids around…"

"I'm just seven, but I guess if you remember visiting, you would remember me…"

"Maybe you were just a baby…"

"Yes, maybe."

"Oh, Liz, I'm glad you found someone to keep you company, so you don't get bored with the adults… Hello, Matt. It's nice to see you again. Would you please take care of my daughter?"

My father and Matt's approached us. Dad was very distracted lately, and I guess he didn't see what happened right before.

"I will, with pleasure, Mr. Goodwin," he smiled proudly, and I felt something funny in my stomach, like I was proud of him, but how, if I just met him?

"He already saved me… I stumbled and almost fell right when a car was coming… he held me and saved my life, " I said, looking down.

My dad and his dad looked at each other.

"You saw her almost fall, son?"

"Yes, but no… it was like... I felt like I should look in her direction, and when I saw her walking to go to the other side, something told me there was danger, so I ran, and got to her on time," Matt said.

"I am surprised, it is quite unusual to have a bond at such an early age…" Now it was Matt's dad, and they were so surprised and busy with the thought that they kept talking and walked past us, not even remembering that they were telling us something…

"I think they forgot us," Matt said with a smile, looking at them, and then at me, "but don't mind that, I'll take care of you. Come with me," he said, grabbing my hand.

I looked at his hand, holding mine. He was warm, even if the morning was so cold.

I felt him pulling me to the field that was back from where I was coming from.

"I'm not letting you cross the street, you're too distracted, and something might happen to you. We can play, if you want, but not there."

His voice was almost muffled by the wind. We walked quickly towards the tents that had been placed for the people not to get wet with the rain, but then, suddenly, the sun started to come out.

"What do you like to play?" I asked, and then we talked, and played, and laughed a lot. I thought dad would mind that I was so happy while at my mom's funeral, and I felt guilty too, but then, when I stopped or slowed down, Matt would get closer and tickle me.

"Your laugh is really funny, I like to hear it," he said, laughing as well.

"I usually don't get tickles, but your hands make me giggle, even when you grab my hand, I can't help it," I told him.

"I feel that too… "

"Would you like to… Wait. Stay here for a moment, ok? Don't go anywhere while I'm not with you, because I might lose you among the people and something might happen to you," he said seriously, and then ran to a lady that was talking with other ladies.

He said something, and she looked at me and waved. I blushed some more and waved back, then looked at the ground distracted.

"Come," he said once again, startling me, as I didn't expect him to be back so soon.

"Liz, would you like to be my mate? When we grow old?" he said smiling.

"Will you take care of me, and play and be my friend, as you did today?" I asked, smiling.

"I will, of course. That's what mates do."

"Then, yes, I will like that."

"I have something for you…" he said, opening his hand and showing me a necklace! And it was very pretty! "My mom made it. Those are Obsidian stones… and I would really like to give it to you… so you remember that you're my mate."

"I like it very much, thank you! I'll wear it all the time," I said looking at it, then he got closer and put it on my neck.

"Promise me that you won't fall in love with any other guys, until you're 18 and I can come back for you and we can be mates," he said.

"Will you do that too, and not fall in love?"

"I won't. I will wait for us to grow up and be together. I promise," he said, now standing in front of me.

"Then, I promise too," I smiled.

He looked at me directly and got closer, and before I noticed, he kissed me.

My eyes went wide, but then, for some reason, it felt ok. I felt safe with him.

He pulled back and looked at me, still smiling, then tickled me again and kept playing with me until our dads came to look for us.

It was time to go back home…

"Will I see you again?" I asked.

"Of course you will. We promised, remember?"

Then we said goodbye.

"Daddy, will we ever see them again?"
