Introduction
Rumors claimed that Scarlett Xaver was not only a patient but also a jinx who caused the deaths of both her foster father and biological mother. At the age of eighteen, the Falcon family, one of the four most famous families in C Country, brought her home from the countryside. Although others avoided her like the plague, she was the family’s treasure, always afraid that she would get hurt. Her sisters adored her, her brother pampered her, and her father loved her, but they couldn’t get rid of her background as a country girl. Everyone ridiculed her behind her back, calling her a stain on the Falcons. Little did they know that she wasn’t as simple as she seemed. Carson Lowe lowered his head and approached her, his voice deep and compelling. "A magnate in the medical field, hmm?" The little girl wiped her sweaty forehead and smiled guiltily, "It’s nothing… It’s nothing…" Carson curled his lips and drew closer. "Worth hundreds of millions?" "Ha." Scarlett was sweating profusely. "They’re lying to you; I have no money! I'm a pauper!" His smile deepened as he lifted her, "It’s okay. We’ll go home and figure it out slowly!” Everyone sensed something was about to happen and bowed respectfully. "Travel safe, boss!"

Under the sweltering sun in Green Hill Village, a group of villagers with wooden sticks gathered in front of an old house, shouting, “Frank Xaver, hand over your daughter!"

Hearing the commotion outside his house, the man’s eyes darkened. Clenching his fist, he told the girl seated opposite him in hushed tones, "No matter what happens, don’t go out."

The ponytailed girl, with small and delicate tan features, wore a black T-shirt and grey pants. Her long eyelashes concealed the darkness and gloom in her eyes.

Supporting her head with her right palm, she shook her legs casually under the table and nodded when she heard what her father said.

Receiving her assurance, Frank stood up and opened the door to face the villagers.

He shut it immediately after he existed and glared at the crowd vigilantly. "What do you want?"

A middle-aged woman with withered cheeks, a towel wrapped around her head, and sweat streaming down her forehead emerged from the crowd.

"Frank, ever since you adopted Scarlett Xaver, droughts have started in our village. Disasters occur every year, resulting in poor harvests. Goddess Seventh recently appeared in my dream, telling me that there is a jinx in our village, and your daughter also appeared in my dream. What else can you say?"

This middle-aged woman who mentioned the Goddess Seventh’s dream was none other than the village medium, Mila, and those villagers were her devotees.

Hearing what she said, the villagers became enthralled and waved their wooden sticks at Frank.

“We need to get rid of the jinx to save our village. Sacrifice her to end the disaster!”

Frank, realizing things were getting out of control, stood alone in front of the door and shouted, "Nobody shall take my daughter away as long as I am here!"

Mila felt that he was overconfident in his capabilities and sneered, "If you don't get out of the way, we will burn down your house to protect our village!”

"Burn their house! Burn their house!"

Amid the yelling from the crowd, the door opened slowly.

Scarlett, half leaning against the door, locked her gaze on Mila with a faint smile.

Mila frowned into her cold gaze as if the girl could see through her plot in detail.

Frank was anxious and wanted to shove Scarlett inside the house, "Didn't I tell you not to come out?"

"Nothing to fuss about. Since she comes out on her own, take her away." Mila glanced at Scarlett and motioned to the villagers beside her to get Scarlett, but they were blocked by Frank.

"Mila, you instigated and brought these people here, claiming that I’m a jinx, and threatened to set fire to our house. Isn’t it because you fancy our house and the plot of land near the mountain? You intend to drive us out of Green Hill Village and take over everything we own, don’t you?" Scarlett spoke slowly, with a lovely smile and innocent, clear eyes.

Mila’s heart skipped a beat; how could this rascal read her mind?

Fearing that something might go awry, she hurriedly masked her amazement and turned to the villagers to elicit their emotions.

"Do not be fooled by her evil words. Bring her to the sacrificial altar quickly. The rain will undoubtedly arrive next year! Trust me! Goddess Seventh told me in my dream!"

As soon as she finished, the villagers appeared hypnotized and rushed forward frantically.

Frank was weak and had no strength to stop them. He was pushed to the ground and, in despair, coughed up blood.

"Dad!"

Scarlett was forcefully tied up, and when she saw the blood on the ground, her eyes widened and her fists clenched. Anxiously, she tried to rush forward to check on him, but two strong villagers grabbed her shoulders, forcing her to kneel.

With a pallid face, Frank yelled urgently, "Don't touch her!"

"Your dad has suffered from a serious illness since he adopted you. This is God’s punishment!"

Looking at the misery of the Xaver Family, Mila let out a sigh of relief.

A few days ago, she approached Frank to exchange the acreage, but Frank adamantly refused. Resorting to her adopting such a method to get what she wanted. Now, both the farmland and the house would soon belong to her.

The village would no longer allow the Xaver Family to dwell here after this jinx claim.

During the chaos, nobody noticed several black vehicles driving slowly toward the Xaver’s house.

"Mr. Falcon, this is the place," the driver informed the middle-aged man in the rear seat with respect after stopping the vehicle in front of the crowd.

Lowering the window, Damon Falcon turned his head to peer outside.

His first sight was drawn to the girl who had been shoved to the ground on her knee, and her familiar facial features struck him instantly.

Yes, this was indeed his daughter!

The black vehicles came to a halt in a row, and a group of men in black alighted, following Damon toward Scarlett.

The villagers noticed the movement and were astonished, unable to move because they had never seen such a formation before.

"Who are these people? Why are they in our village?"

"Oh my God! Is this a wealthy man from the city? Those four wheels look pricey, and he has a large entourage of bodyguards. Supporting them must be more difficult than supporting our piglets!”

The villagers were discussing intensively, but only Frank let out a sigh of relief when he spotted Damon.

Full of majestic air, Damon approached Mila and said, "Let her go."

Just a simple sentence, yet Mila was so terrified that her legs wobbled. She gazed at the men in black behind Damon, attempting to remain calm, and said, “This is our village's internal affair. You cannot intervene, no matter who you are. Otherwise, you shall face punishment from Heaven!”

There was no expression on Damon’s face, but his men swiftly moved forward and surrounded the villagers.

Everyone was stunned and let go of Scarlett, while Mila's heart skipped a beat. She cried loudly, "Today, even if the president is present, we must complete the sacrifice, or there will be no hope for the village. Whoever dares to stop us, we’ll fight until the end!"

The villagers revered Mila as if she were a divinity. They had no concept of thought or judgment; everything was based on her instruction.

There was no way to communicate with them; the only option was to treat them as they treat others.

Chilled in Scarlett’s eyes, and when no one was paying attention, she quietly approached Mila with a small silver needle in her hand, piercing an acupuncture point on Mila’s hand.

Mila suddenly felt a tingling pain in her wrist but paid little attention to it.

Suddenly, she turned pale and began to tremble. Her legs shook violently as she fell to the ground.

"What's wrong with Mila?"

All the villagers glanced at her, but no one dared to step forward.
