In the heart of the Aries Pack, anticipation fills the air as we await the triumphant return of our alpha, my husband Andrew. Two weeks ago, he led the pack in a battle against the rogues, and news has just arrived that they emerged victorious.

I adorn myself , eagerly anticipating his arrival , Andrew and I have been married three years now, and although it's not been an entirely happy or joyful ride, it was calm, almost peaceful, but not happy..

Soon, a commotion stirs at the pack's entrance, and amidst the crowd, Andrew's figure emerges. Walking toward him, I prepare to embrace him, only to be surprised by the presence of a woman behind him.

My cautious gaze falls upon her, noticing her timid eyes.

"Lexi, meet Celine, my brothers wife" he states, the gesture lacking any attempt to embrace me. With a strained smile, I offer a nod of acknowledgment. Naturally, I am acquainted with her, or rather, I've heard about her. I know she endured the loss of her husband just two months ago. In return for her smile, she embraces me, an unexpected action that prompts me to hug her tightly, conveying a silent assurance that I empathize with her grief and believe things will eventually be fine.

""It's a pleasure to meet you," she remarks.

"Likewise. I hope your stay here will be enjoyable," I respond.

Sincerely, I truly desire for us to get along well. My gaze shifts to Andrew, my concern for him growing stronger. Our communication is strained, often our mind link falters. While I'm uncertain of the cause, it's happened once more. Attempting to reach him proved futile; he didn't answer his messages either.

"How are you?" I inquire, hopeful that he'll catch my hint and suggest a more private setting.

"I'm fine. Kindly arrange a room for her," he states, then departs with his beta.

Disappointed, I ask a maid to take care of her, and I try mind linking Andrew,

"We need to talk" "Andrew?"

No reply, I can't help but begin to wonder if the mind link is working, perhaps he just chooses to reply when he feels like. Can that be the case?

I go to my room, and call my best friend Bella.

'Hola! Amigo" I imagine her roll her eyes, I have not seen her since I got married, since i ran away from home just to marry my soul mate, Letting my father and our entire pack down.

"Is it safe to call me?" She ask, immediately she picks.

"Do I care?"

"I'm serious Lex, I heard some rouges attacked your pack, I'm sure your husband must be at edge"

"It's fine Bella, relax"

I had told Andrew I was an orphan without memories, we do not talk often, I only call her when Andrew travels, but he's home now, but I do not mind, I need someone to vent to.

"I need to rant!"

"Rant on me!"

"So, you already knew Andrew went out to fight the Rogues, we didn't communicate, for some reason the mind link stopped working, he didn't reply my

Messages, or maybe they didn't deliver. And guess what, he came back home with his Late brother's wife without informing me,that's not even the highlight babes, I made to hug him, and he dismiss me and ask me to go prepare a room for her, then he left! Can you imagine"

"Take a breath, dear. Finished?" she inquired.

"Not quite, but I'll listen to you first," she chuckled. "I'm hurting, and you're laughing?"

"I apologize, but you've been ranting like this for the past three years. I feel like whatever I say doesn't make a difference, so I'm tired of repeating myself."

"How can you say that?"

Lex, you've allowed him to treat you the same way ever since your wedding day. I'm telling you, just like I've always said and will keep on saying, he married you primarily for the power that comes with the mating bond. Why are you refusing to see the truth? It's not too late to return home," she spoke softly, so gently that it seemed unfair to respond with harshness.

I didn't want to hear this from her, especially not now.

"You know what, I have to go. I shouldn't have called. You're not in my situation, neither are you marries,so I don't blame you. Goodbye."

I ended the call, realizing that the next time I dial her number, it will likely be to vent, as usual. She wasn't lying – hardly a day goes by when I don't call just to pour out my frustrations. We only speak about once every six months, and it's usually just to let off steam.

My relationship with Andrew isn't the typical love story, but he does care about me. I might not be entirely satisfied, but perhaps I'm thankful; it's hard to say. I love him, and I feel that whether he loves me back is his choice. I haven't loved him because he loves me; I was content to wait until he was ready to express those words. Now, though, that moment might never arrive.

Later that night, following dinner , we lie in bed,I did lose my thoughts to Andrew

“You didn’t get my Messages?” I ask.

“No, dear” he responds.

“And The mind link?”

“Didn’t get that either” he replies ,absentmindedly.

“Why are you never worried about me? When you’re not around, you never attempt to contact me, and when I do, you’re unreachable, and you’re okay”

“Don’t start Lex, I miss my bed, and I’m begging for a sound sleep tonight” he retorts.

“Start what? I just want to have a conversation” I reply frustrated.

“And I just want to sleep” he counters in one breath.

A knock on the door interrupts us. I open it to find Celine. At this hour, I’m puzzled.

“Can I come in?”

“I’m sorry, no. Is something wrong?” I reply her.

Andrew’s mind link interjects, “Who’s that!” As I prepare to respond, I realize he had just used the mind link, confirming it was functional. I answer, “It’s Celine.”

Before I can react, Andrew is next to me, concerned, “Celine, are you alright?”

She abruptly shifts to a somber mood. “I can’t sleep. I was hoping you could take a walk with me.”

I offer, “I can go,he was just complaining about being tired.” But Andrew chimes in, “It’s alright, Lexi. Go back to bed.”

I’m taken aback, “What? Weren’t you just complaining about sleep?”

He insists stubbornly, “I said it’s fine.”

I sigh and return to bed reluctantly, finding it hard to believe this is happening.
