Los Teques, Venezuela
I have always been kept out of the loop. No one tells me anything I simply followed instructions given to me by my father or my elder brother, Jovian. I couldn't say anything or demand that they do so because I was only seven.
Seven and scared out of my mind, as I witness all the frightening things before me. Standing in the atrium of our mansion I watched on as our servants' load our things frantically into the waiting black vans, screams of our pack members were heard outside the high concrete walls. The locals were chanting awful words and throwing random objects over the wall.
"SIENNA! Dondé es tú bebé? SIENNA!" The frantic yells of my father didn't register in my head as I saw a flaming object coming over the wall, it was coming towards the entrance of my home. It getting closer but it didn't reach me, luckily. Someone grabbed me and shielded my body as I heard the loud explosion, from the twisting of my long dark hair at the back of the neck I knew who it was. He always wraps my hair around his hand and massages my scalp to comfort me.
"Shhhh!!! Come here little Si. It's alright," He said in my ear. My brother, my protector.
"What is happening Jovian? Why can't I see Gabriela anymore? Why are they calling us 'hijos de Diablo'?" I asked him looking into his dark eyes.
"Because we are different "was all he said to me before gathering me up, running through the now empty halls leading to the back entrance of our estate.
Clutching onto my brother I watched as our beautiful home go up in flames, our servants were running behind us with whatever possessions they were able to carry. Their faces filled with fear, our guards were making sure everyone made it out, and tears flowed from my eyes as I saw my personal maid fell just outside of the verandah.
"MARISOL! Ven Marisol! PRISA!" I screamed. Jovian stopped and looked behind him, my eyes widen in fear as someone emerged from the house holding a gun and pointed it at her. The man was about to shoot Marisol but a large brown wolf pounced on him snapping the man's neck. I screamed in horror hiding my face on my brother's neck. There was so much blood. I was crying I didn't realize that I was now in my mother's arms.
"Marisol, where is she?" I asked through my cries.
"Aquí. Estoy aquí amita." I heard my maid exclaimed breathlessly.
"Jovian, Sienna. You two are to go with Javier and Marcos. I will follow you soon. Amoré.Go with our ninos. I shall be with you as soon as I can." My father said behind me. It was dark but I can make out the vans.
"Papa. No." Jovian and I begged. Our mother was beside herself begging him to come with us in our native tongue. Our father hugged all three of us declaring his love in words and gentle kisses on our heads while leading us inside the vans. We were at the back of the van begging him once more as he closed the door. His grey eyes spoke volumes as he held my cheek and my brother's hand saying a prayer over us.
"Papi. Por favor. " I cried clutching onto his hand.
"May the moon goddess bless my little princess! Te Amo, mi hija," He said softly before pulling away from the van.
"No! No! "I screamed, my brother's cries in tune with mine as we both looked out the window as the van drove further into the dark. The fiery light from our once happy home gave us enough light to see him shift into his large black wolf before he disappeared from us. The howl of wolves and screams from humans pierced through the air but it was our father's sad howl pierced through our hearts.
The van was dark and silent as we drove on endlessly, I was now in my brother's arms being held tightly by him as my mother tried to cover her sobs. After an hour or so, well to me, we stopped and all I can smell was gasoline and heard very loud engines. Looking out the window I saw a jet that I've only seen on television surrounded by large men in black and heavily armed.
"Where are we going? We can't leave without Papi" I said scrambling out of the van looking behind us hoping to see another van but I was disappointed. Mama came before me kneeling to my level and taking my small cold hands into hers.
"We must leave this country to be safe. We are not welcomed here anymore. Your father will follow us soon. He... He has some business to finish." she said trying her best to explain. I looked for Jovian, he was staring out at the darkness, tears falling from his eyes at sixteen he was very mature and was very close to me even if I was his annoying little sister.
"Come, my little Si. We must go. We shall see Papi soon" he said slowly turning away from mama and me to make his way to the jet. Marisol and our immediate servants followed taking one last look behind us. "Where are we going?" I asked softly allowing her to lead me into the jet. Jovian saved me a seat beside him and quickly buckled me in.
"America," she answered taking her seat also.
America. The word bounced around my head, the TV shows I have watched, is it really like that? I have never been to America only my father and brother and their stories seem so unbelievable but I guess I will soon find out for myself.
We all stayed quiet as the jet went down the runway lost in our own thoughts, truthfully I was scared of the new life I was about to start. Will I make new friends? Will I finally get a friend who is the same kind as me? The main question that stood out was why were we leaving our home?
Seattle, USA
No one said anything in the large room, no one smiled, and the once cheerful family was gone. The echoing of shoes on the hardwood floor brought everyone's attention to the entryway. The immediate family stood waiting for the person to come through the door. The eldest of the siblings held onto his mate as he stared at the fire blazing in the hearth. Her warmth and love calmed him but his heart was hurting. The other siblings stood away from each other lost in their own worlds. They have been through this before but this was at a greater magnitude. No one was there to reassure them that it all would be okay.
A human male of a caramel complexion entered the room with a briefcase on his hand, his face also solemn for the situation affected everyone.
"Good afternoon your majesties, personally I must give you my deepest sympathies. What I came here to do I wished I didn't have to since the first day the notion was given to me. I am deeply sorry for your loss." he started with a hoarse voice. By his tone and the gravel in his voice, anyone can tell he was crying for long hours.
"T-thank you, Isaac, we all expected it, but now it happened it's even harder to bear," Caiden said not even turning to look at the young lawyer.
"Please go ahead," Rosaline said after a moment of silence. Caiden squeezed her shoulder in thanks, she was always there to help out with her kindness.
"Yes your majesty," he said slightly bowing to her before moving to the large oak desk belonging to the present King.
Isaac prepared all documents that needed to be used before him then motioned for everyone to sit but they refused. He took in the room, the children of the great Queen Emma and King Michael.
Caiden and Rosaline are now the present high king and queen of all supernatural beings, blessed with a set of twins Reign and Cain and younger, Michael. They have ruled over the kingdom with great success, their nature of werewolf has been revealed to humans, most have accepted them but there are always a few who saw the bad in things, in them. Ties between humans and supernaturals have strengthened due to the fact that mating was among all kinds now.
Rebecca and Matthew, the royals of the European half of the kingdom, took over from Prince Caleb and his mate as they respectfully stepped down wanting to spend time with their grandchildren. It has been a task for the young couple as Matthew had to take over for his old pack but with help from family, it was easy. Their kids, Sean and Matthew Jr. have grown to be quite strong and somewhat respectable in Europe, heartthrobs to the ladies but their sights are on the throne.
Angelo and Amelia, double trouble as the media fondly calls them. Both came from very high power backgrounds in both the werewolf and the human world. Angelo still holds his domain in America while his mate has Russia and neighboring domains. They were blessed with two pups; both boy and girl are spitting images of their parents and held a big step in the world at their young age.
"Before I begin, the loss of Queen Emma Saville has created a lot of upheavals meaning masses are mourning, family-owned businesses are closed till her burial and rebels are seeing this as an opportunity to make their selves known."
"All would be sorted." was all Caiden said glancing at his now stoic brother. Isaac nodded also glancing at the quiet prince. Angelo was alone; he was in New York when he was told the news of his mother requesting his presence and quickly flew to Seattle to see her one last time. He was the last one to see her alive.
The attorney grabbed three packets with each sibling's name on it and distributed it respectively, Caiden, Angelo, and Rebecca. "Queen Emma was simple with her last requests. In each envelope are letters to each of her children and grandchildren. I do not know its contents, it hasn't been touched, and it has been locked away for four days after the death of your father. All I am here to do is read her last will and testament which I will now proceed to do," he stated going back behind the desk.
Angelo's hand trembled as his fingers traced over the name his sweet mother always called him, 'Sweet Angel' no matter how old he was she saw him as her sweet angel.
"The following is the last will and testament of one Emma Saville........"
