Introduction
"You may be mine, but I am not yours." Kalmin snarled, his emerald green eyes livid with hatred and spite as he glared at Nuri. He stared at her for a few moments more before turning, and closing the door, locking it behind him. "I didn't mean to be your mate, alpha. If I had a choice in the matter, I wouldn't choose you either!" Nuri spat at the door, but she knew it had fallen on deaf ears, as Kalmin never listened to a word she said. _____________________________________ Nuri is a half wolf/half human hybrid, who had no choice in becoming the mate to Kalmin, as neither of them had a choice in the matter. Nuri wants nothing more than to escape the living hell Kalmin submitted her to, but has no choice but to live in it, as no one could win against the feared Kalmin, alpha of the blue river pack.

"Nuri, hurry up! We're going to be late!" Peter exclaimed, letting out a drawn-out exaggerated sigh, rolling his dark brown eyes at Nuri through the screen of their video chat.

"Calm down, Peter, we aren't going to be late. Don't be such a drama queen!" Nuri exclaimed, then stuck her tongue out at him as she finished putting on her shoes, then grabbed her phone and ran out the door to the car where Peter was waiting. It could not be said that he was doing so patiently, however, as he drummed his long slender fingers against the steering column.

"See, we are going to be late. We were supposed to leave ten minutes ago!" Peter groaned as he put the car in drive and slammed his foot onto the accelerator.

‘He’s such a drama queen. I swear he overreacts about the most idiotic things.' Nuri thought as she clicked her seatbelt into place, bracing herself as Peter speed down the gravel road, in a rush for an event Nuri didn't particularly care about going to, but was guilted into doing so by the never-ending pleas of the man sitting beside her.

"So, tell me again why we are going to this wolf frat party?" Nuri asked, taking a few sips from her water bottle, hiding her smirk when she saw the annoyance dancing across Peter’s face.

"It is not a wolf frat party, Nuri. It's a birthday party the blue river pack is throwing for their alpha."

"Okay, so why are we going? We aren't members of the pack."

"But we could be! We can try to join the pack once we graduate, and then we're set." Peter said, grinning widely at the notion, as he sat up straight in his seat, pressing down on the accelerator again.

Nuri rolled her eyes, sighing as she held onto the door handle. "We both know I don't have a chance. The Blue River pack doesn't accept hybrids, Peter. Have you forgotten that?"

'Fuck, I always forget that you're a hybrid.' Peter thought, then shook his head, pursing his lips. "That can always change. It's not a law set in stone, you know."

‘The hell it isn't.' Nuri thought but said nothing as she waited for the drive to end.

________

After what Nuri felt like was a lifetime of being in the car with Peter, who nonstop talked about how "awesome" the Blue River pack was, and talking about how hot their alpha was, they finally arrived at their destination.

"I can't wait to meet the alpha! I've been waiting my whole life for this moment!" Peter shrieked as he jumped out of the driver's seat, bouncing up and down in excitement, waiting impatiently for Nuri to get out of the car so they could walk together through the doors.

"Peter, you do realize that you cannot wish the alpha into being gay, right?" Nuri asked with a sigh as she walked hand in hand with Peter to the front door. Rather than knocking, Peter opened the door and pulled her over the threshold.

"Don't be so negative. You don't know that- Oh my god, there the alpha is!" Peter exclaimed, squealing as he looked across the room to where the alpha stood.

Nuri took one look at the man standing across the room and decided she’d be better off never getting any closer to the man that she was at the moment. He was terrifying from across the room, which led her to believe he was even scarier up close. He was 6'6, and in his early twenties, with short cut black hair and the most piercing green eyes Nuri had ever seen. He wore a pair of black jeans and a button-up black shirt, tucked into his waistband.

‘I can see why Peter is attracted to him, but he's terrifying!' Nuri thought as she drank in the man's appearance, then glanced over to Peter, who was standing there with his mouth hanging open, staring at the man without a sense of shame.

"Peter, close your mouth," Nuri said from between gritted teeth before she yanked him into the kitchen, ignoring his groans of protest when the alpha left his eyesight.

"Why are we going to the kitchen? The alpha is in the other room!" He whined softly, stomping his foot in anger, acting just like the drama queen Nuri always called him out to be.

"I let you drag me here, but I'll be damned if I stay here without being drunk," Nuri said, shaking her head as she poured herself a tall glass of punch, then turned around and almost ran straight into the alpha, who stood just behind her, waiting for his turn at the counter. "Shit! I'm sorry!" Nuri gasped, trying to take a step back, but tripped over her foot and began to fall.

‘Of course. Why wouldn’t this happen to me, right in the middle of the Blue River pack house, and even better, right in front of the alpha.’ Nuri thought, squeezing her eyes closed as she waited to feel her body hit the ground.

Before a drop of her punch could spill, the alpha wrapped his arm around her waist and caught her, catching her glass with his free hand, and setting it down on the counter. "Are you alright?" he asked in a deep and thunderous, yet sexy and arousing voice, his peridot green eyes searching Nuri's face as he waited for her to open her eyes.

He didn’t quite understand why he found her reaction so amusing, but he bit his tongue to stop himself from chuckling, less he further embarrasses the girl who he could tell was already mortified.

Nuri hesitantly opened her eyes, and immediately wished she hadn't. In less than a second, she’d gone from embarrassed, to wishing she could spontaneously combust to save herself the life of misery that flashed before her eyes, the moment she met the alphas gaze.

'Mate? My Mate!' Her inner wolf gasped happily when their eyes met, the wolf inside of her coming to life when it sensed her mate inside of the alpha.

'She's our mate! We finally found our mate!' the alphas inner wolf squealed happily, begging for him to take the girl into his arms and kiss her, as that is the only thing his wolf wanted when he saw that that Nuri was the woman he was meant to be with.

"No!" The alpha roared, releasing Nuri as he staggered backward, shaking his head in disbelief, his light green eyes darkening with hatred and confusion. "My mate cannot be a hybrid! I refuse to believe it!" He roared as he glared at Nuri as if that would stop the connection the two of them inevitably had.

"I-" Nuri started to say, but wasn't entirely sure what she could say about it, so instead she shook her head, and ran. She didn't know where she was running, and she didn't care. The only thing Nuri knew is that she needed to get as far away from the man as she possibly could. She knew it wouldn’t break the bond that formed between her and the alpha. Unfortunately for Nuri, nothing could. The moment two wolves locked eyes and their inner wolves connected, there was no hope of keeping them apart. They would do whatever they could to bring their human halves together.
