ANDRONIKA POV
“NIKA!!!” I heard a familiar voice, scream my name, my mother’s figure was running towards me. It was dark, my vision was fuzzy, and all I could see were the flaming fires all around the pack.
I couldn’t respond as I stared in agony. I could hear the cracking sounds of my bones as they twisted. I tried to scream, but I couldn’t.
My father’s pack was on fire, and the wolves were howling and fleeing helter-skelter.
Screams from every direction pierced my ears, and I could hear myself sobbing inside my chest. My father, the pack’s alpha, was fighting to protect his people.
I couldn’t move my body as I stared in anguish, I couldn’t move my body. My mother was only a few meters away when she was attacked from behind by a wolf.
In front of me, he pounded on her and devoured her. As I stared, wet, hot tears streamed down my cheeks. I couldn’t yell, I couldn’t help because my body was numb and wouldn’t move no matter how hard I tried. It seemed like I was battling to get out of my own body, and the pain was excruciating.
Hearing the sound of a cutting blade, I shifted my gaze to my father, who was laying helplessly on the ground beneath the foot of a large, scary guy wielding a silver sword. He lifted it up and the blood began trickling down from the sword. His chest held high, showing his proudness.
The wolves began to retreat, dropping down their swords as they fell on their knees and bowed their heads to worship him.
When his crimson dazzling eyes met mine, my entire body trembled with horror. I felt a powerful hand pull me back, and that’s when I turned, growling viciously like an animal. I didn’t feel like I was in my own body.
This isn’t me. What exactly am I? I couldn’t believe it; the power that surged through me as I leaped up, raising my paws to fight as I felt the bright light inflicting harm on my eyes. My vision improved, and I could see my uncle on the ground below me, while I was on top of him, my fingers pressing against his shirt.
“Calm down, Andronika, it was all a dream.” My uncle’s words of assurance calmed my wolf, and I quickly returned to my senses.
I noticed myself panting heavily and gradually recovered my breath before standing up.
“I’m sorry.” I mumbled, stretching my hands towards him, which he gripped, and I forcefully pulled him up.
“It's okay”. My uncle respond. “Shall we?”. He inquired as he wrapped his hand around my shoulder and compelled me to walk into the blue-painted apartment.
I was seventeen years old when i discovered that I’m a werewolf, it was quite funny when I started discovering some weird changes in my body; like I could easily hear and see things from a distant. When I told my parents about it they were excited to tell me the truth about me been a werewolf, and those were my wolf insitinct.
My parent had brought me to the pack to celebrate my seventh birthday and that was the same day I lost them. It happened so fast in a full moon, my uncle was the one who had saved me that day; he shift to his wolf state and flipped me over his back and ran as fast as the wind that I was even scared I might swing off from his back.
My uncle, Gavin is a beta and my dad's first hand as he was the alpha of the park. He wasn't just my dad's first hand but his close younger brother. His a huge man with a bulky body structure and quite too young for his age.
I fixed my gaze at the ground as we reached the dinner table. I lifted my head and spotted a middle aged lady arranging plates on the table which I assumed to be his wife. I could scent she’s also a wolf.
“You came back on time hunny”. The lady said as she approached Gavin and gave him a peek on the lips while wrapping her hand around his neck.
Gavin released me from his arm and wrapped his hand around his wife, he pressed her body against his bulky chest as he stared into her beautiful silver eyes.
“Where are the kids?”. He asked as he peek her lips again which she made her moan.
“Upstairs”. She said in a whisper as she tilt her head, reaching for his lips again and I cleared my throat so they could notice my present. “And who is this?”, She asked, eyeing curiously at me.
“Uhmm…”, Gavin disengaged from her while he spoke. “This is Andronika”. His said, placing his palm on my shoulder. “Nika, this is my wife Mikayla”. He introduced and that wasn’t enough for her as she gaze at me in disgust.
“And why did you bring her here?”. Mikayla asked.
“Mika…”, Gavin tried to speak but she turned around and walk to the chair.
“You know what? Forget about it, there is no need to explain”. Mikayla said as she sat on the chair.
“Carson! Come down here dinner is ready!!!”. Mikayla yells as Gavin and i took our seat. I sat next to my uncle and we were now oppositely facing Mikayla.
Their house was a little luxurious but outdated.
A scent hit my nose and I began to sniff in with my eyes closed, the scent were fascinating and I couldn’t stop inhaling.
“What's wrong with her?”. I could hear Mikayla communicate with his wolf.
“It's normal Mikayla, please don’t…”. Gavin respond in a pleading tone.
I hissed as I heard the sound of footstep descending from the stairs and the loud bang made it sank into my ear. I grasp my ear close, using my palm but the sound was even getting louder.
“Turn it off”. I said in a whisper and within a second it stopped. I dropped my hands on the table, trembling while I tried to catch my breath. One of the wolf instinct I have is hearing from afar and it’s been quite hard trying to control it. I lifted my gaze and saw them staring at me awkwardly. “Is…everything…okay?”. I asked, averting my eyes from my uncle to Mikayla before turning my head to face the stairs.
Low and behold, I saw a tall, handsome, dark haired young man. He has a well sculpture body and he looks incredible in his white rolled up sleeve. His strong muscle were visible in the sleeve and his deep blue eyes were alluring.
“No wonder he scents so good”. I mumbled in my head.
“And who do we have here?”. He inquired as he lifted one of his well-defined brows.
