"Have you seen Mara?" Maya asked as she walked around the house searching for her little sister or best friend. However, people around her started to shake their heads, completely oblivious of Mara. At that moment, Maya walked right into the massive house of the pack, the Alpha house. Quickly rushing in only to see the Chaos all round. People were getting ready for the party they were about to have tonight. It was a big rush

But immediately she pushed her blonde hair away from her face rushing up to the kitchen trying to find her there, but got confused when it was empty. However, right at that moment she noticed one of Mara's best friends walking down the stairs with another confused look on her face. Maya completely understood both of them were trying to find Neve.

Her blue eyes went wide open.

"Are you looking for Mara?" Maya asked and Joiin nodded her head.

"I have been trying to. I left her alone for sometime, but now she is gone. Where did she go?" Joiin asked, worried about her, and Maya started shaking her head, irritated, placing her hand on her hip. They looked around at the large castle like house that it was.

"Are you both searching for Mara?" A voice came from above them, from the second floor, and both the girls looked up to see it was their Luna. Mara and Maya's mother. Her beautiful long black hair was falling from her face. She was a perfect presentation of both her beauty and brain. She looked very much like Mara as well.

"Yes Luna, have you seen her?" Joiin asked, while Maya stared at her mother. Although, she looked nothing like her mother but more of like her father, the Alpha. However, Luna smiled at them softly, while walking down the stairs with all her grace.

"You both have been looking around the house but completely forgot that she likes to be next to her pond. How did you forget the Pond?" She asked, giving them a hint or a major clue and that surprised both of them.

"Of course." Maya said, slapping her forehead, and Joiin looked a little disappointed in herself. Quickly, both of them ran out of there, speed walking as both got out looking at the entire pack from up here. The preparations for the big party was being done and that was for the full moon celebration. It was all at its best and everything was going excellently well. Everything being prepared to the best and people were mostly running here in there, trying to solve problems, go with the plan as the decorator had instructed correctly how it is to be. Some houses individually being decorated as well. There were just screams everywhere from every area, it was pretty fascinating whatever this was.

However, the girls started to make their way towards the forest, the dense forest that their boundary was surrounded by. They felt at most at peace inside of the forest, but as of now, they wanted work done and not this calm interior of the beautiful forest. It did not take long but the girls eventually reached where Mara could be. They also could see her from a far distance, peacefully sitting by a large rock that she always sat on. Mara was also staring at the water.

"Be very nice to her." Maya said and even though she did not elaborate, it Joiin immediately knew what she was trying to say.

"You don't have to tell me that, I know what I should do and not do." Joiin let out, feeling offended at Maya's assumption that she being her best friend, did not know about Mara and her condition.

"I am not trying to taunt you, all I am saying is sometimes you bring it up." Maya said.

"I never bring it up." She said upset now and both started to fire up, getting closer to Mara.

"I can hear you both, and you both are bringing it up." Mara said almost immediately, speaking. Both of them then reached her, upset and Maya couldn't help but think it was her fault. Joiin simply rolled her eyes as both her best friend and her sister got on top of the rock as well, just sitting there, letting out a large breath and tired from the walk. Not saying or doing anything. At least Joiin was. Maya, on the other hand, she slowly glanced at her sister, as her long black hair was flying behind her shoulders, the warm summer afternoon was letting out a small pleasent breeze. And even though Mara had a smile on her face, her large brown eyes clearly showed the sadness that was surrounding around her.

"You know, it is much better for you to come join all of us back in the back, rather than to sit here. I know this place is beautiful for you, Mara." Maya said, looking around the entire pond. It was completely surrounded by greenery, flowers, large trees, but the pond just looked gorgeous, more gorgeous at night when the light of the moon would fall on to it.

"But Mara, I think you should come back and stay with your people. You are so much better there than out here, all alone." Maya let out, hoping her sister would listen to her. Although Mara was very stubborn, she would never listen. But this seemed like a bright idea.

Mara, on the other hand, she glanced away from the pond for the very first time and looked down at her sister. I think I am allowed to be sad. There is nothing wrong in that," Mara whispered, asked and said. However, Maya, she did not know what that sadness was like. She had her own mate but her sister did not.

"You cannot blame him entirely, Mara. We killed his entire back and your father killed his father, the Alpha. I know it happened many weeks ago but you can understand why he did that, and how he could reject you." Maya said, but it hurt for her to speak the truth with her own sister.

"But we are mates." Mara, let out, a small tear forming in her eyes.

"Did that not mean anything to him?" She asked, but suddenly after she said that, Mara chuckled to herself.

"I know how messed up it sounds. I wouldn't listen if I was in his place, but why did the Moon Goddess do this to us?" She asked, her voice breaking. Feeling the pain now. But however, the answer to that question did not exist in any of them. Not with anyone and her heart started to drop yet again. The same feeling of pain coming back to Mara.

"It makes me feel sick in my stomach. I can't even explain what it is, but it hurts. Everything hurts." She explained more than she could.

"It's like both of them were played in this disgusting game. And every part of me wants to go to him. But his rejection was so strong, I could see in his eyes that he wanted me, but he couldn't even say he did. Even though it was not easy, the best thing to do for him, was say I reject you and I just accepted my fate." Mara said, a crack now in her voice.

"I accepted..." She whispered, finally speaking from her heart, letting out the pain she had in her for weeks. Slowly, then Mara let out a small huff, as the pain released out of her body. But it still hurt her . At this moment, yet again no one said a word. There was pure silence. Her wolf Anya was so weak.. She wouldn't even want to speak. Anya was quiet and this scared Neve very much, but she just did not have the strength to do anything anymore. And even for her own wolf as well.

"How is father?" She asked and this time, she was not the one in pain. Joiin looked at Maya as the girls eyes met, and Maya was asking for help.

Joiin nodded her glancing at her best friend.

"Your father is still in his office, he hasn't left yet." She said, and all of them understood why he was still in there,

"He too is upset Mara," Joiin said, and this broke her to hear. Her father was going through this.

"Maybe you should go talk to him?" Maya asked.

"It's not going to be easy. I understand that, but he is your father and he feels disturbed for what he has done. You both cannot stop and stay like this forever. This was meant to happen Neve. He didn't do it to hurt you, it just happened." Maya said, her words hurt to hear, but somehow Mara couldn't help but feel that she did not have control over everything as well. Not even the mate that was given to her as a gift. But snatched over almost immediately. Mara sat there for a few more seconds, staring at the water as the night was falling on them. Darkness is consuming the land.
