Laty was frustrated with the mission he was sent to.

Out of all the soldiers in the palace, supreme prince Fern had to send him to the border!

He wanted so badly to be sent to Galizma. But no, he had to be sent to this goddess-forsaken place.

He kicked the sand in anger as he took a step toward the camp he just erected.

The camp was a small one, that was done up carelessly. It showed how much Laty cared about the camp, and the setting up.

He just wanted to leave. That's it, he needed to go to Galizma and show those stupid Vampires what he's capable of doing.

Laty incidentally kicked the large stone in anger.

"Goddess!” He hopped on one foot, strongly clutching to the foot he hit on the stone.

His face turned red as the pain washed over him before it subsided.

“The perks of being a werewolf,” he smirked.

The pain has dulled, but the ache was still there. However, it wasn't as much as it was when he hit his leg on the stone.

“I will reserve my strength for the vampires.” He frowned to himself, “I hate those bloodsuckers.”

Laty's hatred for bloodsuckers started on the day he watched them slaughter his family without mercy.

From then, the young Laty vowed to take revenge on the bloodsuckers.

He entered his tent to get some rest. Tomorrow, he will be leaving for Habibaliz to give his accounts of the Highlands.

So far, there have been no attacks from the borders.

Right now, he needed to rest.

And when he does—

A loud bang from the outside his tent, made him run out.

With eyes as wide as saucers, he saw the beasts approaching him at a quick speed.

“Goddess!”

The werewolf gasped in shock as he watched the strange animals approach.

Kil who has been watching his werewolf mate walk around the tent was startled at the sound of the animals.

He jumped from the tree he was sitting perched on and raced towards his mate, who has changed into his wolf form.

The vampire didn't spare a glance as he started to go through the creatures who tried to attack his mate. He was like a deranged psycho, with the way he was walking through them as if they were nothing.

Laty growled in anger as he fought against the creatures. And he wasn't aware of the bloodsucker that was helping him out until he turned to face him.

A growl left his throat as he glared down at the vampire, before he charged toward him, momentarily forgetting about the beasts that were still coming in their numbers.

You can say that he was blinded by rage.

Right now, the only enemy he sees is the vampire. And he was out for blood.

Growling, he tried to claw at Kil, but Kil dodged it, at the same time he charged toward a creature that wanted to make use of Laty's deviation, to deal with him.

Kil kicked the animal, with a growl deep in his throat. He sent a challenging glare toward the approaching creatures, that paused at the sight of the vampire.

Kil was a sight to behold. With his red blood eyes and hair that seemed to burn in the sun, he looked rather deadly.

The animals whispered at the sight before they ran back the way they came.

Initially, they thought the werewolf was an easy target. And that was why they targeted him, not knowing that a vampire was in their midst.

Laty wasn't concerned about the animals, and neither did he stop to question why the animals are running.

All he did was growl at the bloodsucker.

Kil raised his hands, in a show of surrender.

“I am not here to hurt you, wolf. I was merely helping you ward off those beasts.” Kil said in a gentle tone as if he were talking to an insane dog.

Laty frowned at the vampire in front of him.

He tilted his head as he tried to understand the words the vampire spoke. But wasn't able to tell how possible it was for a bloodsucker to help a werewolf.

This must be a damn trick.

Howling at the vampire, he charged toward him unexpectedly.

Kil moved out of the way, just in time to escape the hit he would have taken.

“What's wrong?” Kik frowned at his mate, barely restraining the urge to spank his butt.

However, Laty didn't stop. With a dark growl and narrowed eyes, he charged toward the vampire, who was ready for him this time.

Instead of moving out of the way, he stood his ground. And caught Laty in his strong arms.

“Now, will you stop playing around, wolf?” He darkly glared at his supposed mate.

Laty squirmed in the hold and tried to remove himself from the embrace of Kil, who was enjoying the proximity more than he was willing to confess.

It's just not every day that you get to hold your mate in your arms, hours that you found out he was your mate.

Laty trashed like a baby who just learnt how to walk, and was eager to walk. But was restrained by family members who wanted to carry him.

However, it didn't get Kel to release him.

"Aren't you a feisty one, darling?"

The words alone enraged Laty to no end. Howling at the top of his lungs, he finally broke free of the hold of the stunned Kil who was surprised his mate managed to break free.

Before Kil can record anything, Laty has already bitten off a chunk of his flesh. With his sharp canine teeth, he bit the other one.

Kil howled in pain, but it didn't numb him. And right before Laty can record anything that was happening, he was back in the embrace of the vampire.

But this time around, he was not held by the vampire's arms, but by his body. Kil wasn't taken any chances at all.
