The sound of the music blasted through my headphones as I ran past my street and into the woods, the music made me push harder and I was starting to breathe hard but I didn't stop and continued running as 'Heat waves' by glass animals blasted through my headphones. I was still running when I ran past the river and I slowed my steps till I finally came into a halt and then removed my head phones and stared at the river or what was beyond it.

I live in a little town called Oak creek and believe it or not but in this little town according to legend mystical creatures live here, mostly werewolves and they once live with us humans until a big bag alpha destroyed everything and he was cursed and put to sleep and the werewolves were sent out of our village, forced to live at the other side of this big River.

My name is Fiona Deville and I've lived in Oak creek ever since I was a little girl and I've heard tales of the werewolves stories for as long and even memorized everything by heart. This big river was one we must never cross, in fact no one dared to cross it but as much as I am scared of the stories of the werewolves, I can't deny the pull I have whenever I jog past this river and stare at it, just like I'm doing now.

No one has seen the werewolves ever since that time, no one knows what they look like and even the alpha. All they know is the alpha was a dangerous beast and a ruthless killer and the werewolves were just as ruthless as he was. Even though I was scared of the stories just like any other sane person, I can't help but feel a little curious, what do werewolves look like? Is it true the alpha eats children and drinks the blood of virgins? Is it true he is the devil himself? But the most important question of all, what does he look like? The alpha! I muse as I stared beyond the river and at the other side of the woods.

I was still staring when I heard a twig snap and I turned to look at where I heard the sound but I couldn't find anyone there. I squinted around hoping I would see someone or anyone but I couldn't find anything there which was strange. I turned back to the river and was lost deep in thoughts when I suddenly felt the presence of someone behind me.

I made my hands into a fist and turned backwards and let out a yell as I made a move to punch my attacker but the person caught me before that could happen so I raised my leg and kicked him in his shin, making him wince in pain.

"Fiona, what the hell?" The voice choked out and I frowned as I took a closer look at the person.

"Liam?" I asked moving closer to him and he raised his head for me to confirm that it was actually him.

Liam has been my best friend ever since we were kids, we've been friends ever since he made me play with his collection of block busters because the other boys in the neighborhood thought I was too girly to play with it and that had made me cry until Liam came up to me and offered to play with me and ever since then we hit it off and have become the best of friends till this day.

"Oh my God Liam, I'm so sorry" I said making a move to help him.

"Are you okay?" I asked him.

"Of course not!" Liam yelled at me.

"Okay, no need to get cranky" I said taken aback by his behaviour.

"Who the hell kicks people right in their fucking Legs?" Liam cursed at me.

"Okay first of all don't take that tone with me and secondly you asked for it the moment you snuck up on me and you are very lucky all you got was a kick because I could have peppered spray your ass" I told him narrowing my eyes at him.

"Whatever" Liam said brushing me off and then turned to stare at the river alongside with me.

"You ever wonder what at the other side?" I asked him and Liam turned to look at me.

"I don't need to wonder, I know what's on the other side, monsters" Liam said as he bent down to pick up a rock.

"Yeah, monsters" I said under my breath as I watched the waters ripple as the rocks skipped past them.

"You going to be coming to the party though?" Liam asked me and I turned to look at him with a frown on my face.

"Party? What party?" I asked frowning at him because I haven't heard of any party.

"Well Josh's parent are out of town and he's throwing a big party in their absence" Liam said smiling brightly and I rolled my eyes at that.

"No thanks, I'm skipping" I said in a dry tone.

"Awww come on Fiona, don't be like that" Liam said and I arched a brow up at him, "I mean do you know how much of a big deal it is to get invited to one of Josh's parties?" Liam asked looking at me in disbelief and I let out a sigh at that.

Of course I knew how much of a big deal Josh's party was. Joshua Kepa, star quarterback of Oak Creek's college.

Joshua Kepa was famous, everyone knew who he was because parents adore him, boys wanted to be him, girls wanted to date him, not me though because the rate at which he changes girls was faster than the way he changes boxers.

Everyone views Joshua Kepa as some kind of mini god but I think he is an entitled spoilt brat who thinks he can get away with anything he wants but I've got to admit though, he throws really cool parties.

The last time he threw a party he brought 'Tyga' to come perform and it was the talk of the town for weeks and now he's throwing another one and I understand Liam's excitement about this party but I just wasn't feeling it.

"I'm sorry Liam, I'm just not up for it" I told him and Liam let out a frustrated sigh at that.

"Awww come on, why the hell not? This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to be wild before college resumes and you get swamped in some boring textbook" Liam said and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Okay, textbooks aren't boring, you are just dumb" I said and Liam winced at that.

"Way to go Fiona but never mind since I'm in a forgiving spirit, I'll just let it slide if you promise to come to the party with me" Liam said giving me his best puppy face which he knows I can't say no too and I let out a sigh as his smile grew brighter because he knew I was already changing my mind.

"Okay fine, we'll go to the stupid party" I mumbled kicking a rock and Liam let out a loud whoop and he came over to me and hugged me tightly then twirled around while I laughed.

"I knew you'd say yes" Liam said then grinning from ear to ear.

"Only cause you knew I couldn't resist it when you give me your puppy eyes" I said as I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah sure whatever, so let's meet up here at eight?" Liam asked and I nodded my head at him.

"Yeah, eight's fine with me" I said with a smile then turned to look at him, "Any chance you might change your mind though?" I asked him with a pout and Liam let out a laugh at that.

"Not a chance" He said and I pouted even more at that, "Come on, last one home is a hairy monster!" Liam suddenly yelled and took off.

"Why you cheat!" I cursed at him as I ran trying to meet up with him and we both laughed as we ran back home.

I stared at myself in the mirror. I was dressed in a white dress that stopped mid thigh and I had a big pink woolen cardigan over it and I wore a pair of ankle boots, what can I say? I've never been a heels kind of girl.

I had my long massive blonde hair held back with a butterfly clip and I only applied mascara to my naturally long eyelashes and gloss to my full red lips. I was admiring myself when the door opened revealing my mom.

"Awww look at my little girl, all grown up" My mom, Allison said as she came inside and stared at me.

"Mom, don't start" I said with a small smile as I looked down at ku feet.

"What? I'm just saying you look beautiful" My mom said and I smiled at her, then mumbled a thanks at that.

"Well will you look at that, it's a full moon tonight" My mom said as she stared up my window and I looked out my window to see the moon was indeed out.

"You know, werewolves are the strongest during times like this" My mom said as she stared out my window, "They say if you listen closely you can hear them howl in the night, they are always the happiest during times like this" She said smiling brightly at the moon.

"And what about the alpha?" I asked and my mom turned to look at me.
